You will be responsible for preparing castings to high standards and working with precision tools. The ideal candidate will have good manual skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.   • De-burring, grinding, and removing ceramic mould material.
  • Work to tight tolerances and quality standards.

We are looking for a Production Operative to join a small, supportive team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you'll be responsible for preparing castings to a high standard, working with precision tools, and following strict quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Remove defects and excess material from castings using hand tools (grinders, burrs, abrasive belts).
  • Dress castings to meet drawing tolerances.
  • Prepare castings for welding based on inspection results.
  • Carry out weld mapping activities.
  • Use measurement tools (Callipers, micrometres, depth gauges).
  • De-burring, grinding, and removing ceramic mould material.
  • Work to tight tolerances and quality standards at all times.

Key Requirements:

  • Good manual skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work overtime if needed.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Basic maths skills.
  • Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks.

Salary: £26,250 + shift allowance (depending on pattern worked).
