Overview

We\'re working with a specialist engineering organisation in the defence sector who are seeking a Production Engineer / Project Manager. This is a key role ensuring production plans are delivered on time, coordinating across multiple departments, and keeping complex engineering projects on track.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage the production plan, ensuring delivery to schedule.
• Coordinate with Design, Procurement, CNC, and Project Engineering teams.
• Act as a central point of communication between departments, suppliers, and management.
• Monitor project progress, flagging risks or delays early.
• Drive accountability across teams to ensure commitments are met.
• Support continuous improvement in production efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong mechanical engineering background with 5+ years in engineering/manufacturing.
• Apprenticeship trained, ideally HNC/HND in Mechanical or Production Engineering (minimum ONC).
• Excellent communicator, able to influence and coordinate across teams and stakeholders.
• Experience in fast-paced production environments, managing multiple priorities.
• Proven track record of delivering against production plans under pressure.
• Driven, motivated, and proactive.
