Job description

Mazco Recruitment are working in partnership with a well‑established and highly respected precision engineering manufacturer near Gatwick. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Production Engineer with strong CNC and manufacturing experience, with the long‑term aim of developing the successful candidate into a Senior Production Engineer.

The Role

This is a hands‑on engineering role where you will be responsible for taking projects from concept through to completion. You will be closely involved in CNC programming, prove‑outs, setting, troubleshooting, and supporting production across the shop floor. There is also exposure to automated metrology equipment and continuous improvement activities.

A structured training and development plan will be put in place based on your current skill set, ensuring you reach the required level within the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • CNC programming using SolidCAM
  • Setting, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machines
  • Programming and operating automated metrology equipment
  • Creating training modules for metrology equipment where required
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with the company’s Quality Management System
  • Updating engineering and production records
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Scheduling teams
About You
  • Engineering background with strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience with CNC machining and metal cutting processes
  • Knowledge of metrology (automated experience highly advantageous)
  • Experience with SolidWorks is beneficial but not essential
  • Apprentice‑trained or degree‑qualified in a manufacturing/engineering discipline
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • A collaborative team player with good communication skills
