Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Geospatial Consultant to lead GeoAI and GIS projects across infrastructure and land sectors. You will design, build, and deploy advanced geospatial solutions, develop production-grade Python workflows, and mentor junior staff.

You will collaborate with GIS, Data Science, AI and Technical Specialist teams, shaping GeoAI methodologies, and delivering robust, data-driven insights for major clients within a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

Strong GIS experience with Python development and automation.
Proficient Python including ArcPy and ArcGIS API for Python.
Experience applying AI/ML to geospatial problems.
Knowledge of PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Experience with ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, and geodatabases.
Degree in GIS, Geography, CS or related.

Responsibilities

Design and develop GeoAI solutions using Esri tools and open-source AI.
Write production-grade Python toolboxes and data pipelines for ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise/SDE.
Integrate DL frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow) into geospatial workflows.
Lead GeoAI project workstreams across utilities network analysis, land ownership, water/environmental modelling.
Collaborate with project managers to scope, estimate and quality-assure GIS/GeoAI deliverables.
Provide technical assurance and peer review of GeoAI and GIS outputs to ensure quality.
Produce technical documentation and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Mentor and support junior GIS analysts and developers.
