Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is recruiting a Principal/Associate consultant to lead Water EIA and Flood Risk work from the Birmingham hub. You will direct complex projects for major infrastructure including renewable energy schemes and Heathrow expansion, engaging with clients and regulatory bodies.

You’ll manage a three-person water EIA/FRA team, mentor juniors, and collaborate with Sustainable Water Management and other groups to deliver high-quality outputs and expand services across the national

Qualifications

• Essential degree in environmental, geographical, science or engineering.
• Chartered status with one of C.WEM, CEnv, CSci or CEng.
• Experience in Water EIA, FRA or WFD is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and team-management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery, managing client interfaces and internal inputs to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Collaborate with Sustainable Water Management and Earth and Environment teams to develop opportunities and proposals.
• Manage projects balancing programme, budget and quality while ensuring health and safety standards.
• Take leadership for the water EIA and flood risk team and support office growth.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior colleagues.
• Grow WSP’s technical capability and develop new services for clients.
