Job summary

Sovos is seeking a Principal Solution Architect for Embedded Platforms to shape how Sovos technology is embedded within partner products. You will lead strategic integration designs, influence platform direction, and advise senior executives across global ISV collaborations.

This role blends enterprise architecture, product strategy and technical consulting, mentoring other architects and driving scalable embedded solutions via APIs, webhooks and cloud-native patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in product, tax/ERP technology consulting, enterprise software engineering, or similar roles.
• Proven understanding of global tax compliance and indirect tax processes; experience designing enterprise integration solutions using APIs, webhooks, cloud-native technologies and modern architectural patterns.
• Experience with tax compliance, ERP integration, e-invoicing or regulatory technology platforms; Sovos experience is advantageous but not required.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures and enterprise integration principles.
• Experience supporting ISVs through solution architecture, technical consulting or strategic partnerships.
• Proven success managing complex technical relationships with enterprise software vendors or strategic technology partners.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior executives and translate technical concepts into business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic discovery and solution architecture for ISV partnerships, designing scalable embedded compliance solutions.
• Deliver architecture documentation, integration designs and implementation roadmaps.
• Design enterprise-grade integrations using APIs, webhooks, and cloud-native technologies.
• Review API integration approaches including REST APIs and event-driven patterns.
• Establish governance and testing frameworks for scalable, secure partner integrations.
• Set strategic technical objectives across a portfolio of embedded partnerships.
• Guide resolution of critical technical challenges impacting partners.
• Establish governance for partner health monitoring, risk management and integration quality.
