Job summary

Kirkham's vibrant primary school seeks a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support KS1 and KS2 across the school day. The role is full-time with a fixed schedule, paying £14.25 per hour, starting November 2026.

You will assist with literacy and numeracy, help deliver engaging lessons, and support pupils' social and academic development in a warm, collaborative environment. Applicants should have classroom experience and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience supporting children within a classroom environment.
• Confident working with pupils across KS1 and KS2.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to use initiative and adapt to different classes and learners.
• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during whole-class lessons, group activities and independent work.
• Assist with literacy, numeracy and other curriculum-based activities.
• Work with small groups needing extra support.
• Encourage positive behaviour and a positive learning environment.
• Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily routines.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
