Job summary

Teach Now Limited in Barnet, London, is recruiting a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant for a long-term, term-time role. You will work alongside the class teacher to help young pupils build essential academic, social and emotional foundations and to support learning across the KS1 curriculum.

Key duties include leading phonics, reading and early mathematics activities, supporting handwriting and communication, aiding pupils with SEN, and promoting positive learning behaviours.

Qualifications

  • Has recent experience supporting primary-aged children.
  • Understands the learning and development needs of KS1 pupils.
  • Has experience supporting phonics or early reading.
  • Communicates clearly and positively with children.
  • Can maintain warm but consistent boundaries.
  • Works well with teachers and other support staff.
  • Has the right to work in the UK.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and inclusion.
  • Relevant experience in a school, nursery or intervention setting will also be considered.

Support Children at a Crucial Stage

Teach Now is recruiting a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant for a long-term role at a supportive primary school in Barnet. Working alongside the class teacher, you will help younger pupils develop the academic, social and emotional foundations they need to succeed. The KS1 Teaching Assistant will support whole-class activities, focused groups and individual pupils who require additional encouragement. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children become confident, independent learners.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Profile
