Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a KS2 Teaching Assistant to support a Chorley primary school from September on a long-term basis. You will work within a collaborative KS2 team to assist in delivering lessons and supporting both academic and social development.

The role involves leading small group and 1-to-1 interventions, focusing on Literacy and Numeracy, and contributing to pupil assessments and progress tracking. DBS required or in process, with a UK right to work.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Proven KS2 school experience.
• Strong understanding of KS2 curriculum and primary assessment milestones.
• Patient, adaptable and encouraging approach to learning.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Role

Working within a collaborative KS2 team, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and social development of older primary learners. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Class Teacher in delivering lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Leading small group or 1-to-1 intervention sessions focusing on core subjects such as Literacy and Numeracy (including SATs preparation support).
• Assisting with classroom management, tracking progress, and contributing to student assessments.
• Providing a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that fosters independence and confidence.
• Supporting pupils with diverse learning needs, ensuring every child reaches their potential.
