Overview

Primary Teacher - PPA & Leadership Cover (Full-time, Temporary). Location: DE55, Derbyshire. Start Date: 5 January 2026. End Date: 16 December 2026. Days: Monday-Friday. Education Personnel is supporting a friendly infant school located in a North Derbyshire town with strong community links, to recruit a Primary Teacher to provide PPA and leadership release cover across Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Primary Teacher or Cover Supervisor to work within an early years and Key Stage 1 setting that places a strong emphasis on consistency, routine, and high-quality early education. The school benefits from a supportive staff team, well-established systems, and a calm learning environment tailored to younger pupils. Staff work collaboratively to ensure continuity of learning while supporting leadership capacity across the school.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons across Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
  • Provide high-quality PPA and leadership release cover in line with school expectations
  • Maintain continuity of learning and classroom routines
  • Adapt teaching to meet the developmental needs of infant-aged pupils
  • Work closely with class teachers and senior leaders to support pupil progress
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote pupil wellbeing
  • Contribute to a positive learning environment
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in EYFS and/or Key Stage 1
  • Confident classroom management and strong behaviour-for-learning strategies
  • Ability to adapt quickly across different year groups
