Job summary

Cover People in Trafford is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to help pupils build confidence and resilience in a primary school setting. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, foster emotional wellbeing, and help children engage with learning while developing independence.

You'll work alongside teachers and pastoral staff, with safeguarding at the core, and contribute to an inclusive environment for learners with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in education, youth work, mentoring or a similar setting.
• Calm, patient approach and ability to build trust with pupils.
• Understanding of challenges faced by children with SEND or SEMH needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships and helping children develop the emotional, social and practical skills they need to engage in learning.

Your role will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils who need additional guidance.
• Supporting emotional wellbeing, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Helping children engage with classroom activities and develop independence.
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent support.
