Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking confident and enthusiastic Primary Cover Supervisors for flexible roles across Selly Oak and surrounding areas. Opportunities include daily, short-term and long-term bookings with a typical 8:30am–4:00pm schedule during term time.

Responsibilities include delivering pre-planned lessons, managing behaviour, and supporting students from EYFS to Key Stage 2. Must have Right to Work in the UK and up-to-date safeguarding training; DBS with Update Service preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a primary school setting is desirable.
• Experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Learning Mentor, Sports Coach, or Youth Worker is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management is essential.
• Safeguarding training must be up to date (Prospero Teaching can provide this if needed).
• Right to Work in the UK and DBS with Update Service or willingness to apply.

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Ensure pupils remain engaged, motivated and on task throughout lessons.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress, engagement and behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Support the wider school community when required.

• Duration: Daily and Long-Term
• Contract Type: Temporary
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
• Minimum Rate of Pay: GBP95-GBP135
• Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential
• A passion for supporting young learners and helping them achieve their potential
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training is required. If you have not completed Safeguarding training within the last 12 months, Prospero Teaching can provide this free of charge

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to process a new application
