Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting Primary Cover Supervisors for Selly Oak and surrounding areas in Birmingham. Roles include daily and long-term supply, with a start ASAP and a temporary contract for term-time hours.

Deliver pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, support pupils across EYFS to KS2, and provide feedback to teaching staff while building positive relationships within the school community.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Primary School setting is desirable.
• Experience as Cover Supervisor/HLTA/Teaching Assistant is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential.
• A passion for supporting young learners and helping them achieve potential.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training is required; training can be provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Ensure pupils remain engaged, motivated, and on task throughout lessons.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress, engagement and behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Support the wider school community when required.

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting Primary Cover Supervisors for a range of positions, including long-term, short-term, and daily supply bookings across Selly Oak and the surrounding areas.

• Contract/Position Start Date: ASAP


• Duration: Daily and Long-Term


• Contract Type: Temporary


• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time


• Minimum Rate of Pay: GBP95-GBP135


• Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a Primary School setting is desirable


• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Learning Mentor, Sports Coach, or Youth Worker is highly desirable


• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential


• A passion for supporting young learners and helping them achieve their potential


• Up-to-date Safeguarding training is required. If you have not completed Safeguarding training within the last 12 months, Prospero Teaching can provide this free of charge
