Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for Cover Supervisors in Stoke On Trent and surrounding areas. This temporary, full-time role offers daily and long-term bookings with term-time hours from 8:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

A graduate degree is required, with safeguarding training and UK right to work essential. Candidates should have strong classroom management, the ability to supervise mixed-year groups, and provide feedback to staff on student progress and behaviour.

Qualifications

• Graduate Degree required.
• Experience as Cover Supervisor or related roles desirable.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training required.
• Right to work in the UK and DBS with Update Service, or willingness to obtain references.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support students across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Ensure students remain on task and engaged with learning.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress, engagement and behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Support the wider school community when required.

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors for a range of positions, including long-term, short-term, and daily supply bookings across secondary schools in Tamworth and the surrounding areas.

• Position: Cover Supervisor
• Contract/Position Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: Daily and Long-Term
• Contract Type: Temporary
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
• Minimum Rate of Pay: GBP95-GBP135
• Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Key Responsibilities

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Graduate Degree
• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Learning Mentor, Sports Coach, or Youth Worker is highly desirable
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training is required. If you have not completed Safeguarding training within the last 12 months, Prospero Teaching can provide this free of charge
• To Be Eligible for Any Role with Prospero Teaching, You Must:
• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to process a new application
• Be able to obtain references
• The successful candidate will be required to register and pass all safeguarding and vetting checks before commencing work.
