Job summary

Prospero Teaching seeks a confident Primary Cover Supervisor for Solihull and surrounding areas. The role is temporary with daily and long-term bookings, starting ASAP, and hours 8:30am–4:00pm, term-time only.

You will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage behaviour, and support pupils across EYFS to KS2, ensuring engagement and progress while working closely with school staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Primary School setting is desirable.
• Experience as a Cover Supervisor or related roles is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential.
• Passion for supporting young learners and helping them achieve potential.
• Safeguarding training within the last 12 months is preferred; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Keep pupils engaged, motivated, and on task throughout lessons.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff and support the wider school community.

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting Primary Cover Supervisors for a range of positions, including long-term, short-term, and daily supply bookings across Solihull and the surrounding areas.
Position: Primary Cover Supervisor
Contract/Position Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Daily and Long-Term
Contract Type: Temporary
Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
Minimum Rate of Pay: GBP95-GBP135
Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
• Support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
• Ensure pupils remain engaged, motivated, and on task throughout lessons
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress, engagement, and behaviour
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Support the wider school community when required

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a Primary School setting is desirable
• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Learning Mentor, Sports Coach, or Youth Worker is highly desirable
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential
• A passion for supporting young learners and helping them achieve their potential
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training is required. If you have not completed Safeguarding training within the last 12 months, Prospero Teaching can provide this free of charge
