Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Cramlington, delivering routine clinical duties and assisting with patient assessments to ensure smooth sessions.

You will perform observations (BP, pulse, temperature, SpO2), support treatment room procedures, phlebotomy (if trained), ECGs and routine assessments, provide lifestyle advice, and maintain accurate records in the clinical system, with DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
