Job summary

Locum Ready is recruiting a Locum Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Bishop Auckland. The role involves assisting the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and maintaining the treatment room environment.

You will work in an organised primary care setting, helping manage patient flow, perform core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery with guidance and support from the practice team.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
