Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to join a GP practice in Rushden. You will support the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will help manage patient flow, perform observations and assist with ECGs, phlebotomy and routine clinical tasks while updating patient records in the clinical system. Working pattern includes ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions with morning and afternoon slots; enhanced DBS is required

Qualifications

• HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
