The role involves working with clients with complex presentations, contributing to care planning, and providing psychological interventions. Successful candidates will have a doctorate in clinical or counselling psychology and experience working with diverse populations. A supportive working environment with opportunities for professional development is offered.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and flexible practitioner psychologist to join our Complex Emotional Needs Service (CENS).
CENS is fast-paced and forward-thinking, care co-ordinating individuals who may receive a diagnosis of 'personality disorder', demonstrate risk related behaviours, or present with other complex needs. Our work is psychologically informed and formulation driven, with a strong commitment to a multidisciplinary approach. We offer multi-agency/service joint working e.g. joint meetings with clients; supporting care plan development; providing psychoeducation; time-limited interventions; professionals meetings; supervision/consultation; and training. CENS leads in organisational development relevant to the people we support.
Your post will be split, initially approximately 0.6wte in the community comprehensive Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) service, and 0.4wte in the wider CENS service. Within DBT you will be supported within a service with experienced and accredited DBT therapists. You will be supported to engage in formal DBT training with external training providers, funded by the organisation.
We are pleased to offer this band 7 post with a developmental pathway to achieve a band 8a role. This may be of interest to existing practitioner psychologists looking to progress from an existing band 7 position, or to newly qualified psychologists looking for their first post.
CENS support clients aged 17+ with complex presentations and experiences.
You will work in a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) that possesses skills and knowledge in a range of therapeutic models with special interest in this client group.
