Job summary

Clifton Court Medical Practice is seeking a permanent practice nurse to join a multidisciplinary team alongside GPs, the Lead Nurse and healthcare assistants. The core work focuses on patient-centred clinical care, from ECGs, dressings and cervical smears to vaccinations, wound management and reviews for people with long-term conditions.

Hours are full or part time with flexibility, within a team that includes pharmacists and care coordinators.

Qualifications

• Evidence of CPD and continuing professional development.
• Current training or competence for the clinical duties undertaken.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred clinical care including ECGs, dressings, vaccines and wound management.
• Manage chronic conditions and support self-management.
• Carry out venepuncture and diagnostic tests; process specimens.
• Deliver immunisations for adults, children and travel.
• Administer medicines and injections under legal authority.
• Conduct new patient checks and health assessments.
• Maintain accurate clinical records with NMC guidelines.
• Ensure infection control, safeguarding and health & safety standards.
• Contribute to audits, quality improvement and disease registers.
• Support junior staff and participate in meetings and training.
