Job summary

Market Cross Surgery is seeking a practice nurse to work with the general practice team across a wide range of duties including cervical screening, wound care and immunisations. The role covers chronic disease clinics, urgent care, home visits and health promotion, contributing to frail and housebound patient care and safeguarding responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be registered with the NMC, possess a Diploma-level qualification or higher, and demonstrate commitment to ongoing

Qualifications

• Must hold full NMC registration and right to work in the UK.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Cervical screening, immunisation, chronic disease management and wound care certificates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cervical screening and cytology.
• Wound care, dressings and removal of sutures and clips.
• Routine immunisations for adults and children.
• Chronic disease clinics (asthma, COPD, diabetes).
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Assess urgency and provide urgent treatment.
• Phlebotomy, urinalysis and arrange pathology tests.
• Blood pressure checks, health screening and promotion.
• Home visits.
• Contraception, minor injuries and routine injections.
• Care for frail and housebound patients.
• Chaperone duties and safeguarding support.
