Job summary

Qualifications

• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Qualification in cervical screening, or willingness to train.
• Immunisation and vaccination training, or willingness to complete it.

Responsibilities

• Deliver general practice nursing services and clinical procedures.
• Support management of long-term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, COPD and hypertension, including reviews and care planning.
• Administer immunisations and vaccinations in line with national and local guidelines.
• Undertake cervical screening in line with current protocols.
• Promote health and wellbeing through opportunistic advice and health promotion clinics.
• Provide patient education to support self-management.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records.
• Work with GPs, healthcare assistants and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Take part in infection prevention and control procedures.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and audit activity.
• Keep knowledge and competencies up to date, and take part in training, appraisal and professional development.
