Job summary

New Islington Medical Practice in Manchester is seeking an enthusiastic Practice Nurse to support management of Chronic Disease Patients, including Diabetes, Asthma and COPD, with cervical smears and childhood immunisations. A digital-first approach and basic IT skills are encouraged.

The role covers a full range of nursing duties within a multi-disciplinary team; training can be provided where needed, with emphasis on patient care and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience in primary care nursing and health promotion.
• Knowledge of chronic disease management and immunisation programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide the full range of nursing services including chronic disease management and immunisations.
• Carry out cervical smears and travel vaccines.
• Support patient care through health promotion and education.
• Work within a multidisciplinary clinical team and maintain accurate records.
• Assist in teaching and supervision of staff trainees.
