Job description

Overview

Practice Nurse – Locum Contract, based across Essex. The role is based within the GP Practice with the responsibility to provide leadership to junior members of the Practice Nursing Team, in collaboration with the Nurse Lead and General Practitioners, to develop an effective, quality-driven Practice Nurse Service. You will promote integrated nursing practice within the wider nursing team (Practice Nurses, District Nurses and Health Visitors) underpinned by the development of evidence-based practice guidelines for shared delivery of care to the whole practice population. You will help ensure clinical effectiveness by monitoring key quality markers relating to guidelines. You will attend to patients who wish to be seen by a healthcare professional, seeing and advising people in respect of their continuing medical and nursing needs. These patients will have booked appointments but may also require seeing extra or emergency patients.

Locum Agency Contract: Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

Provide leadership to junior members of the Practice Nursing Team in collaboration with the Nurse Lead and General Practitioners.

Develop an effective, quality-driven Practice Nurse Service aligned with evidence-based guidelines.

Promote integrated nursing practice within the wider nursing team and ensure clinical effectiveness by monitoring quality markers.

See and advise patients in respect of their continuing medical and nursing needs, including booking and, when necessary, extra or emergency care.
