Job description

A firm of accountants based in Cambridgeshire is looking to recruit a Practice Accountant. The role is commutable from locations such as Cambridge, Newmarket, Ely, Bury St Edmunds, and more.

The position can be tailored to the successful candidate, with salary depending on experience. Both Junior and Senior applicants are encouraged to apply. The firm is open to both part-time and full-time applicants.

The firm is known for its broad range of services and detailed tax expertise, providing advanced services to a diverse client base.

Accountant – Cambridge

This role involves managing the accounts and tax aspects of clients' affairs to deliver comprehensive service.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Preparing year-end accounts for online clients and those using other systems, for review by a Senior Accountant
  • Drafting computations and tax returns for companies, sole traders, and partnerships for review
  • Preparing VAT returns for review
  • Preparing simple personal tax returns for company directors for review
  • Monitoring client performance against budgets

The firm is primarily office-based but offers some home-working for the right candidate.

Both part-time and full-time applications are welcome, and job sharing can be arranged for suitable candidates.

The firm supports further training for candidates interested in developing their skills and progressing to more senior roles.
