Job summary

AFI-Rentals is looking for a MEWPS Engineer to service and repair a fleet of powered access machines from the Peterborough depot. You will perform PDIs, servicing, LOLER inspections, and manufacturer updates while upholding our corporate image.

You will attend customer site breakdowns across the East region, record checks on a PDA, and work closely with engineering and hire office to keep machines available. A valid IPAF is required, with NVQ Level 2 in plant maintenance or equivalent.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in plant maintenance or equivalent required.
• Good communication and diagnostics skills.
• Experience with PDI, servicing and LOLER inspections.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.

We would welcome applications for this MEWPS Engineer role with the following skills: mobile engineer, engineering, NVQ level 2, plant maintenance, communication, diagnostics, PDI, servicing, LOLER inspections, repairs, and powered access.

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally.
• You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing, demanding hire environment.
• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required.
• Sound mechanical knowledge in a powered access background.

AFI is currently recruiting an MEWPS Engineer based from our Peterborough depot.

You will be responsible for supporting the Central Servicing Hub in the smooth-running of the operations and servicing and maintaining our expanding hire rental fleet. As this is a mobile role, you will be visiting customer sites in the East region.
