Job summary

AFI group of companies in Caldicot is hiring a MEWPS Engineer to service and inspect our fleet, carry out PDIs and LOLER inspections, and respond to breakdowns on customer sites.

You will record checks on a PDA, communicate with the engineering team and hire office to maximise machine availability, and you should hold an engineering qualification (NVQ2+), with IPAF certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) - minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• Experience in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• Able to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Able to prioritise tasks in a demanding hire environment.
• IPAF Operator licence/certification is required
• CAP licence would be desirable

Responsibilities

About the Role

RoleRole OverviewIn brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.

Requirements

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) - minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally.
• You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing, demanding hire environment.
• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required
• A valid CAP licence would be desirable
