Job summary

AFI group of companies in Wakefield is seeking a MEWPS Engineer to service, inspect, and repair our fleet of powered access equipment. The role involves PDIs, LOLER inspections, breakdown response, and ensuring maximum machine availability on customer sites.

You should hold an engineering qualification (NVQ level 2 or equivalent), be skilled in electro/hydraulic systems, fault-finding, and have an IPAF licence.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Competent in electro/hydraulic systems and fault-finding/diagnostics.
• Able to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Able to prioritise tasks in a demanding hire environment.
• IPAF Operator licence/certification required.
• CAP licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI), servicing, LOLER inspections and repairs on fleet.
• Maintain the corporate image of our rental machines and update manufacturers as needed.
• Attend breakdowns on customer sites and ensure high machine availability.
• Record checks using a PDA and follow company procedures at all times.

About the RoleRole OverviewIn brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effective with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.
• We would welcome applications for this MEWPS Engineer role with the following skills: mobile engineer, engineering, NVQ level 2, plant maintenance, communication, diagnostics, PDI, servicing, LOLER inspections, repairs, and powered access.

Requirements

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.

• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required
