Job summary

AFI group of companies in Wakefield is seeking a MEWPS Engineer to perform PDIs, servicing, LOLER inspections and repairs while maintaining our fleet image. You will attend customer-site breakdowns and record checks via PDA, adhering to company procedures.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, plus electro/hydraulic fault-finding skills and strong communication with customers and teammates. IPAF/CAP licenses are desirable.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 or equivalent in engineering.
• Experience with fault-finding/diagnostics in electro/hydraulic systems.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.

About the RoleRole OverviewIn brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.

Requirements

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally.
• You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing, demanding hire environment.
• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required
• A valid CAP licence would be desirable
