Job summary

AFI group of companies is seeking a MEWPS Engineer in Caldicot to service and inspect our fleet of rental machines and uphold our high service standards. You will perform PDIs, services, LOLER inspections, and repairs; attend breakdowns on customer sites; record checks on a PDA and coordinate with the engineering team to maximise machine availability.

A plant maintenance qualification (NVQ level 2) and experience with electro/hydraulic systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (NVQ level 2 or equivalent).
• Competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• Experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• Professional communication with customers and colleagues.
• IPAF licence required; CAP licence desirable.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Role Overview

In brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.

Requirements

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) - minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally.
• You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing, demanding hire environment.
• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required
• A valid CAP licence would be desirable
