Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking an experienced Powered Access Fitter in the Sleaford area. The role covers workshop and field-based repairs, with a strong focus on maintenance, fault diagnosis and ensuring equipment safety and reliability for hire.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working on powered access equipment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
• Confident diagnosing and repairing machinery.
• IPAF/PAL or CAP qualifications are not essential; hands-on experience is key.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair powered access equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Carry out PDI inspections and machine checks.
• Attend customer sites to carry out repairs and maintenance.
• Ensure equipment is safe, reliable and ready for hire.
• Work independently and manage repairs through to completion.
• Support the wider plant and workshop operation when required.

Job description

Location: Sleaford

Salary: £38,000-£40,000 + Company Van

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair powered access equipment
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Carry out PDI inspections and machine checks
• Attend customer sites to carry out repairs and maintenance
• Ensure equipment is safe, reliable and ready for hire
• Work independently and manage repairs through to completion
• Support the wider plant and workshop operation when required

Requirements

• Previous experience working on powered access equipment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
• Confident diagnosing and repairing machinery
• Experience with plant, agricultural or similar equipment will also be considered
• Reliable, hardworking and conscientious approach
• Comfortable working both in a workshop and out on customer sites
• IPAF/PAL or CAP qualifications are not essential. The key requirement is genuine hands-on experience and the ability to confidently diagnose, repair and maintain machinery.
