Interaction Recruitment has partnered with a long-established, family-owned organisation to recruit a Powered Access Field Service Engineer in the UK. You will attend breakdowns, diagnose faults, perform servicing and LOLER inspections while building strong relationships with customers.

The role includes a full-time permanent position with training, a company van, overtime, and a clear path for progression within the team. Expect flexible hours within a 40-hour week and nationwide site visits.

Qualifications

• NVQ in Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Previous powered access engineer experience is essential.
• Strong fault-finding capabilities in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Clear and professional communication with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Thorough Examination Certificate desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attend breakdowns and urgent callouts, delivering fault resolution.
• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults on powered access equipment.
• Perform servicing, LOLER inspections and preventative maintenance per manufacturer guidelines.
• Communicate work scope, timelines and machine condition with customers and teams.
• Identify and source parts needed to complete repairs.
• Complete service reports and digital documentation accurately.
• Maintain safe, clean and organized working practices.

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire

Salary: £35,(Apply online only)-£40,(Apply online only), Overtime @1.5x and 2x on Sundays and Bank Holidays

Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (flexible between 07:00-18:00)

Key Responsibilities

• Attend breakdowns and urgent callouts, delivering efficient fault resolution
• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults on powered access equipment
• Perform routine servicing, LOLER inspections and preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams regarding required work, timelines and machine condition
• Identify and source parts required to complete repairs
• Complete service reports, job sheets and digital documentation accurately
• Maintain safe, clean and organised working practices
• Use diagnostic tools, schematics and service manuals to troubleshoot faults
• Represent the company professionally on customer sites
• Build strong customer relationships through technical expertise and reliability
• Provide technical advice to customers and colleagues when required

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• NVQ in Engineering (or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a powered access engineer
• Strong fault-finding capabilities (mechanical and electrical)
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Flexible and supportive team approach
• Thorough Examination Certificate
• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

• Experience using PDA and Protean software
• IPAF Licence and/or CAP Licence

INDTE
