Job summary

Interaction recruitment has partnered with a long-established, family-owned organisation to recruit a Powered Access Field Service Engineer for Northampton and nationwide coverage. The role involves diagnosing faults, servicing equipment, and delivering high standards of customer service.

The package includes 35k–40k salary, overtime @1.5x and on Sundays/Bank holidays, a company van, fuel card, 24 days leave plus holidays, and extensive training with clear progression paths within the company.

Qualifications

• Essential: NVQ in Engineering (or equivalent).
• Essential: Previous powered access engineer experience.
• Essential: Strong fault-finding capabilities (mechanical and electrical).
• Essential: Clear and professional communication skills.
• Essential: Ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Essential: Flexible and supportive team approach.
• Essential: Thorough Examination Certificate.
• Essential: Full UK Driving Licence.
• Desirable: Experience using PDA and Protean software.
• Desirable: IPAF Licence and/or CAP Licence.

Responsibilities

• Attend breakdowns and urgent callouts, delivering efficient fault resolution.
• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults on powered access equipment.
• Perform routine servicing, LOLER inspections and preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams regarding required work, timelines and machine condition.
• Identify and source parts required to complete repairs.
• Complete service reports, job sheets and digital documentation accurately.
• Maintain safe, clean and organised working practices.
• Use diagnostic tools, schematics and service manuals to troubleshoot faults.
• Represent the company professionally on customer sites.
• Build strong customer relationships through technical expertise and reliability.
• Provide technical advice to customers and colleagues when required.

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Salary: £35,000-£40,000, Overtime @1.5x and 2x on Sundays and Bank Holidays
Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (flexible between 07:00-18:00)

Candidate Requirements
