Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Bristol to deliver letters and parcels from Avonmouth. You’ll work a rotating shift, 37 hours per week across Monday to Sunday, with early and late starts, and some weekend work.

Full training, a uniform, and a red van are provided. You must hold a full manual UK driving licence, be physically fit to walk long distances and lift 10kg+ mailbags, and be reliable and customer‑focused.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:00/14:30 and 10:00/18:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.
You’ll be required to work one in four Sundays at Bristol North Delivery Office working between 11:00/18:00

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
