Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Stone is recruiting a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed term contract for 9 months. The role is 30 hours per week, with a typical 5 days in 7 schedule, including Sundays at Stafford Delivery Office. You'll deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, building relationships with customers while working outdoors in all weathers.

You'll receive full training, a uniform, and a Royal Mail van. Overtime is paid, and the role includes pension and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags.

Job description

Location: Stone Delivery Office, ST15 0YY

Job type: Fixed Term contract(9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday -7:45/15:00* working for 4 weeks with the 5th weeks off plus 1 extra Saturday off.

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work Sundays at Stafford Delivery Office - 10am - 16:30pm

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
