Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Penzance for a fixed-term 9-month contract. You will deliver letters and parcels in your local area, work a 28-hour week across a 5-in-7 rota, and may include some Sundays during peak periods.

Full training provided, uniform supplied, and a red Royal Mail van. You must hold a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 points) and be physically fit to walk long distances and lift mailbags.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.Working hours: 28:0hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday

• Sunday –08:00/20:00*Supporting two separate shifts, either08:00 -15:30 Letter Deliveries or 10:30

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

Due to operational demand, you may be required to work occasional Sundays throughout peak periods.

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
