Job summary

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council is recruiting four Basic Skills Training Tutors to join the Adult Learning in the Community team. The roles offer both full- and part-time hours to support post-16 learners in Neath Port Talbot, focusing on essential literacy, numeracy, digital literacy and employability skills.

You will develop and deliver the Basic Skills programme, assess learners, provide guidance, and work with the core team to support progression into employment or further

Qualifications

• Experience delivering post-16 provision.
• Experience working with post-16 learners.
• Possess relevant subject area experience/qualification.
• Minimum Level 3 teaching qualification in accordance with sector standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the Basic Skills delivery programme.
• Deliver Basic Skills courses to support learners into employment/further education.
• Provide guidance and support to learners to achieve their full potential.
• Collaborate with the core team to complete assessments and progression planning.
• Produce lesson plans, schemes of work, assessments and accreditation within deadlines.
• Lead teaching sessions with learners in line with the programme.
• Promote continuous development and improvement of the programme.
