Job summary

Gap Personnel is seeking an experienced Essential Skills Tutor to join our Cardiff team, delivering Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy to apprenticeship learners under the Essential Skills Wales framework. The role is based at Cardiff Head Office with travel to workplaces as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Work-Based Learning, deliver Essential Skills qualifications, and hold a full UK driving licence. DBS check and Education Workforce Council registration are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Work-Based Learning and knowledge of awarding body practices.
• Experience delivering Essential Skills qualifications.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Willingness to undertake a DBS check and register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

Responsibilities

• Deliver Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy support through workshops and one-to-one sessions.
• Support learners to achieve Essential Skills qualifications and meet programme framework requirements.
• Register, conduct and invigilate controlled tasks in accordance with awarding body requirements.
• Prepare, deliver and assess learning activities, including marking and participation in standardisation events.
• Engage with learners and employers to support qualification achievement and skills development.
• Maintain high standards of quality in line with internal and external quality assurance requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of assessment and learner progress.
• Ensure learner documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales.
• Deliver high-quality training programmes to allocated learners and clients.
• Travel within a regional area to assess learners in their workplaces.
• Contribute to the planning, monitoring and achievement of performance targets.
