Job summary

Itec in Bridgend / Port Talbot area is seeking an Essential Skills Tutor to deliver literacy, numeracy and digital literacy support for learners undertaking Essential Skills qualifications. You will arrange, conduct and invigilate controlled tasks as part of the Welsh Government Jobs Growth Wales Plus initiative.

You will work with learners in workshop or one-to-one settings, supporting them to complete qualifications to a high standard and in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or passion for making a difference.
• Engaging and inspirational training and delivery style.
• Willingness to work towards CAVA qualification or 8375 practitioner’s Award Level 3.
• Willingness to undergo DBS check (cost covered by the company) and EWC registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide literacy, numeracy and digital literacy support to learners in workshop or one-to-one settings at Youth premises.
• Ensure learners achieve Essential Skills qualifications in a timely manner.
• Plan and support the learner in their individual learning journey.
• Support learners to achieve qualifications to a quality standard in a timely fashion.
