Job summary

Gap Personnel seeks an experienced Essential Skills Tutor to support apprenticeship learners across North Wales. The role is home-based with travel across the North Wales region, delivering Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy training and assessments to meet Essential Skills Wales requirements.

You will register, conduct and invigilate tasks, prepare and assess learning activities, and maintain learner records while supporting employers to achieve qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Essential Skills qualifications.
• Experience of working within Work-Based Learning and knowledge of awarding body practices.
• Willingness to undertake a DBS check and register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

Responsibilities

• Deliver Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy support through workshops and one-to-one sessions.
• Support learners to achieve Essential Skills qualifications and meet programme framework requirements.
• Register, conduct and invigilate controlled tasks in accordance with awarding body requirements.
• Prepare, deliver and assess learning activities, including marking and participation in standardisation events.
• Engage with learners and employers to support qualification achievement and skills development.
• Maintain high standards of quality in line with internal and external quality assurance requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of assessment activities and learner progress.
• Ensure learner documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales.
• Deliver high-quality training programmes to allocated learners and clients.
• Travel throughout North Wales to assess and support learners in their workplaces.
• Contribute to planning, monitoring and achievement of performance targets.
