We are currently recruiting PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Teaching Assistants to work in specialist SEN schools across North Somerset.

What you'll be doing:

As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will support children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Needs. These learners have complex needs so often require a high level of personal care and support with communication, mobility and sensory processing. You will work as part of a skilled and supportive team, helping to create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive.

Core responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties on a 1:1 or small group basis
• Assisting with personal care (feeding, toileting, hygiene) and mobility support
• Facilitating sensory-based learning and communication (using methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC)
• Following individual EHCPs and supporting therapeutic interventions
• Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professional
• Personal Care/hygiene, feeding and medication

The role:

• Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only
• Pay: from £95 per day
• Flexible: part-time or full-time options available
• Start: Immediate starts available (with potential for permanent contracts for the right person)
• Location: North Somerset.
