Overview

We are looking to appoint a Plumber to join our multi-disciplinary maintenance team responsible for the operation and maintenance of a wide range of services throughout the University Estate.

You will work as part of the Estates Trades Team and assist with the provision of maintenance duties to a wide variety of heating/hot water/mechanical plant on the University’s extensive and varied estate. You will work as part of a small team undertaking both reactive and planned maintenance duties, executing workmanship to a high standard and ensuring strict compliance with all Health and Safety legislation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide maintenance duties to a wide variety of heating/hot water/mechanical plant on the University’s estate.
  • Work as part of a small team undertaking reactive and planned maintenance duties; execute workmanship to a high standard and ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Assist with installations, repairs, servicing, maintenance, testing and monitoring of plumbing, heating and gas systems, pipes and fixtures.
  • Work with water distribution, waste systems, domestic and commercial central heating systems/boilers/radiators/hot water cylinders and controls.
Qualifications
  • Relevant Plumbing and gas qualifications both in domestic and commercial settings.
  • Experience of domestic and commercial gas installations in modern and historic buildings.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and have experience of both domestic and commercial gas installations in modern and historic buildings.
Terms

Excellent terms and conditions apply – 36.25 hours/week (working hours will vary between the hours of 7am and 6pm and specific timings will vary between work colleagues to suit any operational needs); 30 days annual leave plus 5 statutory days; contributory pension scheme. This is a permanent position.
