Job summary

A public sector organization is seeking a Platform Engineer to join their Site Resilience team in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in VMware, Cisco UCS, and disaster recovery planning. The position offers a £460 daily rate, is outside IR35, and provides remote work options with occasional office meetings in Edinburgh. A 6-month contract with potential for extension is available.

Qualifications

• Experience with VMware 6/7/8.X in multi-site environments.
• Proficient with Cisco UCS configuration and management.
• Knowledge of NSX environments for network virtualization.
• Familiarity with platform monitoring solutions and best practices.
• Experience in disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Understanding of data center management best practices.
• Skills in Windows operating systems and RHEL.
• Experience with automation and infrastructure as code.

• Contribute to NVMe adoption planning.
• Enhance organizational resilience and backup services.
• Improve platform engineering for vMotion setup.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on platform roadmap.

• Troubleshoot platform-related issues and improve operations.
