Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Platform Engineer to deploy applications across cloud and on‑prem environments. The role requires SC and eDV clearance eligibility and involves building tools, automating release processes, and securing systems against cyber threats.

You will collaborate with fellow engineers to ensure established processes are followed and align with stakeholder needs across multiple business areas.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model.
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
• Experience building and deploying large-scale applications in CI/CD pipelines; container platforms and orchestration (ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/helm/Docker).
• Experience in automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents.
• Experience in scripting languages and source control.

Role & Responsibilities

• Work as a Platform Engineer, deploying applications and software to cloud or on-prem environments for our many business areas.
• Due to the interesting work we do and the sector this team is working in, we require all candidates to be willing and eligible to hold SC and eDV clearance.
• Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure
• Understand the needs of project stakeholders
• Automate and improve development and release processes
• Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats
• Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions
• Work with other engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

Required Experience

• Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
• Infrastructure as code e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc.
• Experience in building and deploying large-scale applications in Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines; Container platform and orchestration systems (ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/helm/Docker)
• Experience in automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents
• Experience in scripting languages and source control
