Job summary

Raytheon UK is recruiting a Platform Engineer in Gloucester for a permanent, hybrid role. You will deploy applications to cloud or on-prem environments, develop tooling, and work closely with SCRUM teams. Candidates must be eligible for SC and eDV clearance due to the sector.

The position emphasizes agile delivery, cloud familiarity, IaC, CI/CD, and secure, scalable platforms within a defence-focused cyber environment. Hybrid arrangement applies, with at least 3 days on site.

Qualifications

• Experience in Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery models.
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
• Experience building and deploying large-scale applications.
• CI/CD pipelines experience.
• Container platforms and orchestration (ECS, AKS).
• Kubernetes/Helm/Docker experience.
• Automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents.
• Scripting languages and source control knowledge.

Role&Responsibilities

Work as a Platform Engineer, deploying applications and software to cloud or on-prem environments for our many business areas.

Due to the interesting work we do and the sector this team is working in, we require all candidates tobe willing to attain an eDV clearance.

• Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure
• Understand the needs of project stakeholders
• Automate and improve development and release processes
• Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats
• Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions
• Work with other engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

Required experience

• Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model
