Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our software engineering function in London. You will design and deliver enterprise-grade software across multiple business areas within a cross-functional team, working in an agile environment.

You will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to hit milestones, while contributing to technical direction and continuous improvement. The role requires hands-on Java Spring Boot and modern frontend experience, with cloud, DevOps, and IaC

Qualifications

• Experience working in an Agile delivery team.
• Java development with Spring Boot.
• Front-end development using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue).
• Building enterprise-grade web applications or backend services.
• Cloud & DevOps.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible or equivalent).
• Data & Integration.
• Working with SQL and NoSQL data stores.
• Familiarity with structured and unstructured data concepts.
• Messaging / streaming systems (Kafka, AWS SQS, or other cloud-native queuing services).
• Experience with data visualisation tools or techniques.
• Quality & Engineering Practices.
• Unit testing and test automation.
• Use of code repositories (Git), including branching strategies, pull‑request workflows, and merge processes.

Role & Responsibilities

Requirements/knowledge (you don't need everything)

• Experience working in an Agile delivery team
• Java development with Spring Boot
• Front‑end development using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue)
