Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in London for a permanent, onsite position. You will join a cross-functional software dev team delivering critical software for defence and aerospace projects.

Candidates must hold an active eDV clearance and have hands-on experience across JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or Java, REST APIs, and cloud/container deployment. The role emphasizes collaboration, architecture, and continuous improvement within agile practices.

Qualifications

• Proficient in JavaScript frameworks (React, NextJS) and modern web tech.
• Strong TypeScript and Python/Java fundamentals for backend/frontend work.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and OpenAPI specifications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and container orchestration.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and version control (GitLab).

Role & Responsibilities
