Job summary

Places for People is seeking a qualified plasterer to perform plastering repairs across occupied homes, void properties and communal areas within housing schemes. You’ll travel in a company van, adhere to schedules, and work as part of a small trades team delivering quality repairs for residents.

This role requires NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Plastering, a full UK driving licence, and experience in social housing or domestic properties.

• Experience as a plasterer, ideally in social housing or domestic properties.
• Full UK driving licence held and postcode-based working area.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plastering repairs across domestic properties and communal areas.
• Complete general plastering work per specifications and supervisor instructions.
• Conduct pre and post inspections and record outcomes.
• Work to health and safety requirements and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with supervisors, schedulers and wider teams.
• Record activity and complete required documentation.
• Support apprentices and contribute to team KPIs.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out plastering repairs across domestic properties and communal areas
• Completing general plastering work in line with specifications and supervisor instructions
• Conducting pre and post inspections and recording outcomes
• Working to specifications and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements
• Collaborating with supervisors, schedulers, and wider teams to meet deadlines
• Recording work activity and completing required documentation
• Supporting apprentices and contributing to team performance and KPIs

What your day looks like

• A structured schedule covering repairs and maintenance work
• Travelling between jobs in your company van
• Working independently or with a team of other tradespeople
• Engaging directly with Customers in their homes
• Completing work efficiently while maintaining quality and compliance standards

Where you'll work

You will be working across:

• Occupied homes
• Empty (void) properties
• Communal areas within housing schemes
• Environments involving vulnerable Customers

Essential Criteria (you need to meet all of these to be shortlisted)

• NVQ Level 2 or City and Guilds in Plastering
• Experience working as a Plasterer, ideally within social housing or domestic properties
• Full UK driving licence
• Due to the area this patch covers, you will need to be based within the advertised postcode

Nice to have (not essential)

• Experience supervising or mentoring apprentices
• Additional Level 2 trade qualification
