Job summary

Skilled Careers in Croydon is seeking an experienced plasterer to join our social housing repairs and maintenance team. You will carry out high-quality plastering repairs across occupied and void properties with a customer-focused approach.

This full-time, permanent role requires patching, skimming, boarding and rendering skills, a full UK driving licence, and experience working in residents' homes. A van and fuel are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven plasterer with social housing or domestic maintenance experience.
• Strong patching, skimming, boarding and rendering skills.
• Full UK driving license and NVQ Level 2/3 in Plastering.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive and planned plastering repairs in social housing properties.
• Complete patch plastering, skimming, rendering and boarding.
• Carry out repairs to walls and ceilings, including making good following leaks and other trades.
• Prepare surfaces and ensure a high-quality, durable finish.
• Complete remedial and refurbishment works in void properties.
• Identify additional repairs and report any follow-on works required.
• Work safely and comply with all relevant health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and tidy working environment within residents' homes.
• Complete job sheets and update works accurately using a PDA/mobile device.
• Work independently and as part of a wider repairs team.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents at all times.

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Plasterer, ideally within social housing or domestic property maintenance.
• Strong skills in patching, skimming, boarding and rendering.
• Experience working in occupied properties.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plastering or equivalent.
• Previous experience working for a housing association, local authority or social housing contractor.
• Multi-trade skills such as tiling, painting and decorating or minor carpentry.
• Experience using PDA/mobile working systems
