A major infrastructure organization is seeking a Planning Manager to oversee significant external projects impacting the Strategic Road Network. The role involves providing direction to specialized teams, engaging with project promoters, and ensuring collaborative delivery solutions. This position requires a minimum of 40% face-to-face work as part of a hybrid working policy.
We're looking for a Planning Manager (3rd Party Infrastructure) to join our Network Development Division at National Highways.
It's an exciting time to join our team. Our Network Development Division leads on multiple projects fuelled by the need to ensure that the impacts of the country's largest aviation, rail and other infrastructure projects are considered, assessed and mitigated during their planning. The Division also leads a portfolio of delivery projects supporting the sector build new and upgraded electrical connections at MSAs, working actively with HM Government, the electricity industry and roadside facilities to identify blockers, develop solutions and expedite the provision of rapid charging.
As a Planning Manager, you will engage with promoters of significant external projects which will impact on the Strategic Road Network (SRN) (for example, East West Rail & Airport Expansions), and you'll provide direction to specialist expertise from across the company to assess the impacts on the SRN and influence the design and propose mitigations where these are required. But that's not all, you'll also contribute to our work to provide guidance to external promoters and internal teams on how best to work together.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
